This roadside station is a practical threshold between the Osaka–Kashihara approaches and the Yoshino area. It is more than a souvenir shelf: the operator describes fresh seasonal vegetables and flowers, regional foods, a bakery and an information corner. Nara's visitor bureau explains that the building uses Yoshino cedar and that its two roof lights refer to the tokīn headgear worn by mountain ascetics. A traveller can stop for provisions and onward route questions, but should keep the all-day car-park and toilet access separate from the much shorter shop and food hours.
Use the food hall as a local-products introduction
The station operator sells vegetables, flowers, local products and its own baked goods. The regional roadside-station association identifies Oyodo sun-dried bancha tea, konnyaku, Yoshino kudzu and persimmon-leaf sushi among typical products. These are examples of the range rather than a promise of stock or a recommendation that every visitor buy souvenirs. Look for the bakery's current board and ask about ingredients before ordering if you have allergies.
Choose the cafe or restaurant by its own clock
Yodori CAFE, opened in March 2026, publishes a menu page and normally runs 09:00–15:00. The separate Satono Gohan Yama no Oto restaurant describes set meals, noodles, curry and dishes using local egg or tea; the prefectural tourism bureau lists it 08:00–16:00. Both can change their menu and last-order time. Do not infer that a 24-hour toilet or a full-hours produce shop means cooked food remains available in the evening. The cafe, restaurant, bakery and shop all belong to this single roadside-station venue, so they are not counted as four independent MyNara spots.
Read the facilities without trusting an icon blindly
Nara's tourism bureau lists the produce shop and information corner 08:30–17:00 and the site usually closed Tuesday with variations. Toilets and parking are available 24 hours. It lists 80 ordinary car spaces, two accessible spaces, ten large-vehicle spaces and an EV rapid charger, but charging status and occupancy need a live check. The operator's site posts month-specific closure notices, including for September 2026; a generic weekly rule cannot replace the dated notice. Ask staff about accessible toilet equipment or a current charger fault if those facilities determine your stop.
Approach from the correct bus stop or highway
The bureau places the station at 536-1 Ashihara and gives Nara Kotsu routes 51/52 to Ashihara, followed by roughly two minutes on foot. These are route identifiers to check for the travel date, not a frequent service guarantee. By car it gives around twenty minutes from Gose or Gose-Minami interchange via Routes 169 or 309; road conditions can lengthen that. If planning a mountain day beyond here, use the information corner for current traffic advice while also consulting official road and bus operators.
