Nara Plaza Hotel occupies the same Kabatacho complex as Nara Kenko Land, but has its own entrance, front desk and room booking. Its most useful distinction for a traveller is the link between a booked room and admission to the adjoining baths. The hotel says guests can use the basic spa admission on their stay day and checkout day, while the indoor pool, children's play area and paid sauna cost extra. It is a practical stop for bath-focused families or travellers with a car, provided the exact room plan and onward transport fit the itinerary.
Choose a room for the group, not just the bath
The hotel's room page lists 19.7-square-metre doubles and twins, a 32.8-square-metre deluxe twin, a 39.4-square-metre royal twin and a 65.5-square-metre royal suite. Family rooms combine beds with a Japanese-style area and allow up to five; check the exact bed and futon count rather than assuming five separate beds. The operator says all guest rooms became non-smoking on 14 March 2025 and use Simmons beds. Some rooms have different bath layouts, so check the selected room. The indoor spa connection does not mean there is a private onsen bath in the room.
Families can request useful room equipment
The hotel lists rental baby beds, bed guards, baby baths, baby soap and diaper pails. Rental stock is limited and the page does not promise availability, so request equipment when booking and confirm the child's age, bedding and any charge. A room's maximum occupancy may include children sharing existing bedding.
Understand the free-admission sequence
The hotel says guests may complete advance check-in paperwork from 10:30 and then enter Nara Kenko Land before room access begins at 15:00. Use the hotel-only entrance and collect the admission wristband; the benefit does not apply before this procedure. On checkout day, use the connecting passage or a one-use ticket depending on whether you leave the complex; leaving during a post-checkout spa visit means paying to re-enter. The indoor leisure pool, Hashakids play area and paid sauna cost extra, and pool dates are seasonal.
Book with the current plan and its cancellation terms
The hotel's standard room access begins at 15:00 and checkout is 10:00, but its FAQ says plan conditions may differ. Room rates and vacancy are date- and party-dependent; the hotel's booking engine or phone desk, not a fixed guide price, is the source for a quote. Confirm meal inclusion, child bedding, cancellation policy and spa access on the exact plan before paying. For a late arrival, the English FAQ asks guests to contact the hotel if they will miss the stated arrival time.
Reach the correct entrance
The complex is at 600-1 Kabatacho. The hotel's current FAQ describes Kintetsu Nikaido as about a twenty-minute walk. Its access page lists a free shuttle from JR Koriyama Station at :30 past each hour (08:30–22:30) and Kintetsu Hirahata Station at :45 (08:45–22:45); return buses depart at :10 from 07:50 through 22:10. Seats are limited, the shuttle is for facility users, and traffic can affect timing. Use the operator timetable rather than older prefectural walking estimates, and confirm the day's service before travel.
Use the complex as an overnight base with limits
The hotel and spa advertise a large free shared car park, but spaces are first-come, first-served and large-vehicle rules differ between pages. Bath areas and dining outlets have their own schedules even while the hotel accepts guests. Nara Kenko Land's entry rules ordinarily exclude visible tattoos unless completely covered as specified; check whether the covering option suits you before relying on bath access. Hotel accommodation does not turn the seasonal pool into an always-open facility.
