EverGreen makes the landscape outside central Gojo part of the visit. Its present tour catalogue includes Yoshino River rafting, packrafting, canyoning, tree climbing and seasonal mountain trips, but these are different products with different meeting places and age limits. For a first river day, the operator's Yoshino River rafting tour is the clearest starting point: a guide, raft, helmet and buoyancy aid are supplied, while the water level and weather determine how the day feels. The current Gojo assembly address is 1260 Mitsuzaicho, not the 312 Haramachi address retained by the prefectural English directory. Confirm the exact tour and its meeting point before setting out, because a Kitayama River rafting booking is in Wakayama rather than this Gojo base.
Pick the right river and season
On its rafting page the operator separates Nara's Yoshino River from the more demanding Kitayama River tour across the prefectural border in Wakayama. Yoshino River's April–October programme has morning and afternoon departures; the November–March version is longer, crosses lunch and is basically offered on weekends and holidays. The operator lists ages four and above for Yoshino River with a parent or guardian in the same boat, and a two-person minimum for tour operation. Kitayama has a different assembly point, higher age threshold and minimum party size. A booking for 'rafting' is therefore not enough information for your transport or safety plan: read the exact product name and confirmation.
Read the live price with its inclusions
The operator's displayed Yoshino River half-day examples checked 19 October 2026 are ¥6,500 per adult and ¥5,500 per child for April–October, and ¥7,500/¥6,500 for November–March, tax included. Its terms define child pricing for eligible tours through elementary-school year six; ask for the exact age band and group total. Guide service, core equipment and domestic accident-insurance coverage are listed as included; winter's lunch-crossing programme asks participants to bring their own light food. A rental shoe option is separately priced on the packing page. Do not use older tourism-association prices, which describe different full-day/meal terms. Verify the live date, fee, equipment sizes and inclusions before payment.
Prepare for a wet activity, not a sightseeing cruise
The operator asks rafters to bring swimwear, quick-drying top, shorts, a secure-heel sport sandal or wettable shoes, towel, drinks and insurance-card details; loose beach sandals are not accepted. It normally avoids wetsuits on hot summer days and supplies flotation aid, helmet and other necessary equipment as conditions require. The river has both quiet and faster sections, and participants can fall into the water. Discuss swimming ability, disability, pregnancy, health conditions and clothing or equipment fit directly with the operator; a four-year minimum does not replace individual suitability. Its FAQ says changing space and a pre-tour toilet are available but no toilet or included bath during the river tour.
Reserve early and understand cancellation
EverGreen says every tour requires advance booking, normally by web application at least three days ahead; a phone enquiry is not its standard reservation path. A single traveller may apply, but a two-person operating minimum and availability still control departure. Its published customer-cancellation scale is free until eight days before, 30% from seven to two days before, 50% until 19:00 the preceding day, and 100% thereafter or for a no-show; transfer fees may also apply. A date change on the preceding day or tour day is treated under cancellation terms. If the operator cancels for unsafe river or weather conditions, it offers rescheduling or refund of the tour price, while travel to the meeting point remains the participant's cost. Read the final terms on your exact booking.
Arrive at the present Gojo base without assuming pickup
The current rafting page, company profile, 2026 Nara Prefecture outdoor guide and Gojo Tourism Association all identify EverGreen's Gojo meeting base as 1260 Mitsuzaicho. The prefectural English directory instead retains 312 Haramachi and mentions a pickup from Kintetsu Oada Station; the present operator rafting page explicitly says it does not provide station transfers. Prefecture's 2026 guide estimates a 25-minute walk from JR Kitauchi Station or a five-minute drive from Gojo-Kita IC. These are planning estimates; confirm the exact tour's assembly address, your transport and the return before booking. Do not drive to a map pin based on the old Haramachi listing.
What to look for
Yoshino River family rafting from age four with an accompanying guardian, subject to suitability
Distinct April–October and November–March schedules, fees and food requirements
Current Mitsuzaicho meeting base differs from old prefectural Haramachi/pickup listing
Photo notes
The operator permits a participant's waterproof camera at their own risk and warns of loss or damage. That does not license the operator's gallery, guide, other participants or OTA photographs to MyNara. Seek consent for identifiable people and commercial filming, and secure equipment without distracting from the guide's instructions.
