Nara Kenko Land is a substantial bath-and-leisure complex rather than a single hot spring pool. Its operator describes natural-spring and other indoor and outdoor baths, a separate paid sauna area, dining and family facilities. The building itself operates around the clock, but individual bathing areas have cleaning periods and the indoor leisure pool follows a calendar. Understanding admission, add-ons and entry rules is more useful than assuming every activity is open all night.
Start with the base admission
The operator's current pricing page lists ordinary adult admission at ¥2,200, student or senior admission at ¥1,320 with proof where required, and ages three through primary school at ¥880; age two and under is free. It says towels, bathwear and basic wash amenities, the main baths, rest area and kids' room are included. Special periods can carry different rates and crowd restrictions. Check the live date-specific notice before travelling rather than treating the ordinary price as a guaranteed quote.
Separate the optional facilities
The operator's 2026 pool page lists the season from September onward on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, 10:00–18:00, at ¥770 per person aged three or older in addition to bath admission. Dates and fees can change. The approximately 70-metre slide has a 120-centimetre minimum height; adults must supervise children, and the pool cannot be used as a stand-alone ticket. The paid sauna area is another separate charge and is restricted to middle-school age and above. Check the live calendar before making this a pool trip.
Know the bath's real hours
The complex advertises twenty-four-hour operation, yet its home-page schedule and terms describe cleaning periods when baths or individual tubs cannot be used. The operator lists a rest area and other indoor services with separate hours. Overnight guests staying between 1:00 and 5:00 incur a published late-night surcharge, and very early arrivals staying after the morning checkout point can owe an additional day's admission. Ask staff to explain the exact bill if planning an overnight visit without a hotel room.
Read the tattoo and etiquette policy first
The operator's current admission agreement generally refuses entry to people with tattoos, including temporary ones, but makes a specific exception where all markings are completely covered: it describes a rash guard for the pool and full tattoo-cover stickers for the baths, sauna and other indoor areas. Cover stickers are sold on site. Confirm size and acceptance before travel; do not assume partial covering suffices. The agreement asks guests to use phones only where they will not disturb others; ask staff for the current camera policy and follow ordinary washing-before-bathing etiquette.
Connect by rail, shuttle or car
The operator calls Kintetsu Nikaido the nearest station, about fifteen minutes on foot. Its current free shuttle timetable serves facility users from JR Koriyama and Kintetsu Hirahata, but seats can fill and traffic can delay it; the Tenri-station route remains suspended. Drivers can use the operator's 800-space free car park; large buses require advance group reservation. Nara Plaza Hotel is connected but booked separately, with its own guest admission procedure.
