Jiyuda Terrace is Uda City's small station-front base for visitor information, locally made goods and electric-assisted bicycle hire. It opened in 2023 as a place for travellers and residents to meet. The most important distinction is between the building's opening time and the cycle counter's rental time: on weekdays the building stays open into the evening, but the city's rental guide still lists cycle service to 17:00. A bicycle route can lead toward Ouda or Muro, but Uda City limits its rentals to riding within the city and requires the correct return point by the agreed time.
Use the building as an orientation point
Uda City describes Jiyuda Terrace as a wooden single-storey visitor and community facility beside Haibara Station's south exit. It provides sightseeing information and promotes local goods, so it is a sensible first stop for bus questions and weather-aware route planning. The building was opened in August 2023; it is not the older 'Uda-kandokoro' address printed in some inherited travel directories.
Do not confuse the 20:00 building close with bike return
The city lists the facility open 9:00–20:00 on weekdays and 9:00–17:00 on weekends and public holidays. Its separate cycle-hire page lists the Haibara rental counter as 9:00–17:00. A weekday evening visit to the shop is therefore possible while an evening bicycle collection or return is not established. Confirm the actual return time at the counter before travelling to a distant site.
Choose the cycle and current price
The city's current rental guide lists assisted town bicycles at ¥1,500 per day and sport e-bikes at ¥3,000, with e-bikes available at Jiyuda Terrace and the Muro-guchi-Ono office only. An older Jiyuda feature still prints ¥1,000 for an assisted cycle. Treat that older feature as superseded unless the staff confirms a specific offer. Stock, size and the exact model are not guaranteed; the city allows web reservations and telephone booking here.
Bring ID and understand where you may ride
The city's terms require identity documents such as a passport, licence or other accepted ID. They limit the rental to Uda City roads. Its listed stations allow return at another participating Uda counter without a drop-off charge, but the separate Muro counter has seasonal opening patterns and the former Hashimotoya Muroji counter has ended service. Decide your return branch at pickup and check its hours, especially for a one-way ride.
Connect rail to a realistic route
Kintetsu Haibara is the rail gateway to Uda. The city suggests riding along the Uda River to the Ouda district, with the option of returning to Jiyuda Terrace or the Ouda road-station counter. The terrain and road traffic still matter with electric assistance. The route to Muroji is a different day with its own station and gradients; do not assume it is a casual extension of the Ouda ride. Ask staff for a paper or current digital cycle map before leaving.
