MIROKU is part of THE SHARE HOTELS, a Japanese hotel brand whose stated idea is to share spaces with local communities. The hotel opened in Nara in 2021, beside Arajike Pond and close to the park and Kasugayama Primeval Forest. Its design draws on local materials including Yoshino cedar and Asuka stone; some rooms use tatami platforms and timber details rather than imitating a traditional inn. The operator describes the hotel as a meeting point for local art, craft, food and visitors. A terrace café/bar looks toward the pond and the forested hillside, while a guest-only tea lounge offers a quieter space. The hotel works well for guests who want a modern base on the edge of the historic district and value a public café as part of their stay.
Select from seven room types
The operator lists 44 rooms in seven categories, from a 17 m² Standard Queen for up to two guests to larger Japanese-Western rooms for families and groups of up to four. Some designs use Yoshino cedar or a tatami platform; loft rooms use raised beds. The official page currently displays sample starting prices, including ¥12,000 for Standard Queen and ¥18,000 for Moderate, but rates vary by date and occupancy and the operator's live reservation page controls. Check the exact bed arrangement, room size and price for your party before booking. A nearby Kofukuji tower view is presently affected by restoration hoarding, as the operator notes.
Check which shared spaces are operating
The guest-only TEA TABLE lounge uses local materials and has a water dispenser. MIROKU TERRACE is usually open to non-guests as well as hotel guests, with a café/bar menu supervised by Nara's Kurumi no Ki. However, the operator's system-outage notice, updated 10 October 2026, says breakfast is being provided as usual, the café is operating 11:00–16:00, and the bar is suspended until further notice. This temporary schedule overrides the regular 11:00–17:00 café and 19:00–22:00 bar hours still shown on the general facilities page. The terrace may offer a view of deer moving near the pond, but sightings are not guaranteed and deer should not be fed there.
Understand the sustainability and housekeeping choices
The hotel says it uses renewable electricity, has reduced energy consumption through room insulation, limits disposable items through an amenity bar and uses organic bath products. Guestrooms have separate bathrooms and toilets. Toothbrushes and nightwear are available from the amenity shelf rather than automatically placed in each room. To reduce cleaning and laundry impact, room cleaning, towel replacement and rubbish collection are request-based; guests place the relevant sign outside by 10:00. This is useful to know before assuming daily housekeeping. The hotel also has coin laundry and vending machines; check current prices at the facility.
Use the official reservation and arrival details
The address is 1116-6 Takabatake-cho, Nara City. The operator's live booking page is the place to check dated availability and total price; the 10 October service notice no longer states the earlier 31 October cutoff for new bookings, but it does warn that website enquiries may take longer or receive no reply. Do not treat an open booking interface as confirmation of room inventory. The room page lists check-in 15:00–23:00 and check-out 10:00, with luggage storage before or after. The official access/story page says the former free parking lot ended in January 2024. For a specific access need or current parking advice, use a verified contact channel and allow extra time for a reply. A public route-time estimate from the station is not stated on the current operator page; use a live route planner for your date and mode.
