The lodging once listed as RITA Gosemachi changed its name in August 2026 to UHN Nara Mannenhitsu Honpo, presented in English here as UHN Nara Fountain Pen House. The operator links the building to a family who moved from selling medicines to making Morrison fountain pens in Gose. Its four differently configured rooms use the former workshop and storehouse spaces, with views toward a courtyard or the Katsuragi range. The stay fits the distributed GOSE SENTO HOTEL pattern: sleeping, dining at Kemuri and bathing at Gose Takarayu happen at distinct addresses. Room booking, meal plan and public-bath use should be checked separately for the chosen dates; no blanket inclusion is inferred from the project name.
Use the current name when booking
The operator's 29 August 2026 notice explicitly renamed RITA Gosemachi as UHN Nara Mannenhitsu Honpo and moved the hotel to a new site, ink-stay.com, with no change in operating company. The Nara Prefecture English tourism profile still uses the older RITA name and a former 11:00 checkout. Use the current hotel address and booking site, where checkout is 10:00. A map or search result under either name may point to the same Nishimachi building; neither the restaurant nor the bathhouse is that reception desk.
Compare rooms by layout, not only by a photograph
The operator describes four rooms, not four independently counted attractions. Pueraria is 43 m² for up to three guests, with two semi-double beds and a sofa bed in the converted inner storehouse. Angelica is 68 m² for up to three, with two semi-double beds and a sofa bed facing the courtyard. Miscanthus is 38 m² for two with a king bed, in a space identified by the operator as an actual former pen-making workshop. Rhododendron is 65 m² for up to five, with two semi-double beds, a king bed and a sofa bed and a view toward Mount Katsuragi. The renovated spaces can have very different stairs and room routes; ask specifically about step-free access and bedding for your party.
Check meals and bath entitlement against the plan
The hotel's current food page points guests to the separately located Yoshokuya Kemuri for a Western-style dinner and describes a Gose duck hot-pot breakfast for hotel guests. It also links a separate restaurant booking route for outside diners. The wider town project includes Gose Takarayu as a public bath. Older tourism copy says hotel guests can use the bath and sauna freely, but the reviewed current hotel pages do not specify the exact entitlement, admission count, towel or sauna conditions. Verify those items in the actual room plan rather than presenting an old package claim as current. Dietary and allergy requests should be made before booking.
Read the price as date-specific
The operator's August 2026 launch press release gave a two-person, one-night, two-meal starting example of ¥63,700 including tax. That is a dated promotional benchmark, not a current quote for all four rooms, dates or meal plans. The hotel's own booking widget requires date, party and room selection; it is the correct place to see a live total and cancellation terms. The October 2026 closure notice lists 7, 14, 21 and 28 October as no new check-in days, with checkout only. Check the notice for a later month and keep the 15:00–18:00 arrival window in mind.
Arrive at Nishimachi before the check-in cutoff
The operator gives 1069 Nishimachi, about five minutes on foot from both JR Gose and Kintetsu Gose. It lists check-in 15:00–18:00 and checkout 10:00, and publishes a separate parking PDF rather than implying on-site parking at the entrance. From Osaka, it suggests Kintetsu via Shakudo or JR via Oji; train patterns and connection times must be checked for the actual day. The map pin is the old RITA directory point at the same address and is approximate, not a surveyed door or accessibility route.
