Mitsue Youth Travel Village: Camp, River and Adventure Play
Reserve a campsite or day-use plan below Mount Miune; playground, river and fishing visits also require a plan, and 2026 prices must be checked on the booking date.

Mitsue Youth Travel Village is a managed outdoor site below Mount Miune, with overnight camping, bungalows, day-use picnic and BBQ plans, riverside play and outdoor equipment for children. The village's facility ordinance places it at Kōzue 1790, while the operating company routes reservations through Napp. Crucially, the adventure area is not a public playground that anyone can enter without a booking. Even a family visiting only for the athletic course or river must choose a day-use plan. This distinction matters for a visitor who has driven into Mitsue expecting a quick free stop. The site's 2026 booking channel announced an August price revision, so a date-specific booking offer is more reliable than an older tourism-directory tariff.
Choose camping, bungalow or day use first
The Mitsue Tourism Association describes 21 vehicle-access camping pitches, 11 bungalows and several types of day-use BBQ or picnic site. These are different reservations, with different gear, parking and fire rules. Its overview gives noon check-in and 10:00 checkout for overnight use and a 10:00–16:00 day-use window, but the operator now directs visitors to the selected Napp plan for full conditions. Do not assume a bungalow includes bedding or that a picnic plan permits a stove; the association says blanket and inner-mat rental was suspended in its listing, while plan-specific supplies may change. The site is family-oriented, but no level-access promise is made for individual pitches or bungalows. Check the exact plan, number of adults/children, parking space, bedding, electricity and weather policy before completing a booking.
The play area still requires a reservation
The operator explicitly states that athletic-course-only, river-play, fish-catching and fishing visits need a reserved campsite plan; it may refuse walk-ins when availability is tight. For play without cooking, it points to its fire-free day picnic plan. For cooking, it points to gear-bring and roofed BBQ plans. The tourism association lists a 140-metre roller slide, a roughly 240-metre bobsleigh ride, nine athletic features and a shallow stream, but these are not a guarantee that every feature operates on a specific day. Its bobsleigh information limits operation to certain holidays and summer dates and cancels for rain. Paid fish-catching and fishing have season and stock constraints. Choose the plan for the activity you actually want and ask whether it is running before travelling.
Treat the 2026 price revision as a booking check
The facility's Napp listing carries an operator announcement dated 18 June 2026 that prices would change from 1 August 2026. Older tourism association examples—such as an auto-site from ¥6,500 and a bungalow from ¥12,000—may therefore be wrong for current dates. The village's amended ordinance effective April 2026 publishes upper limits by type, not a simple price list for every date or add-on. This guide deliberately does not show a 'current' nightly fee based on those sources. Select your date and party on the operator-linked Napp plan, then read the total, included parking, any card requirement, cancellation terms and payment method before confirming. A directory's generic 'card unavailable' badge conflicts with plan-specific payment language and should not decide a reservation.
Use recent reports as texture, not rules
The operator-linked Napp page has visits dated July to October 2026. Families describe shade, stream play, fishing, insects and varied site terrain; those accounts help convey what an outdoor day can feel like, but are personal reports rather than an inspection of today's water depth, supervision or available pitch. Shallow-looking water can change after rain, and the play equipment can close. Keep a close watch on children near water and ask the manager about conditions, footwear and fish handling. The tourism association's list prohibits pets, ground fires, fireworks, ball games in the camp zone and drone photography; recheck the booked plan and site's posted rules, since an OTA tag can be broader than the venue policy.
Do not confuse the campsite with the roadside onsen
Mitsue Youth Travel Village is at Kōzue 1790; Himeishi-no-Yu is a separate roadside hot spring at Kōzue 6330, not an on-site shower or part of the camp fee. The Napp overview suggests the onsen is about ten minutes by car from camp, but that estimate can change with roads and parking. The campsite has its own phone 0745-95-3088 for on-site matters, while its current operator page asks booking questions by email and sends reservations to Napp; it specifically asks visitors not to contact the village office, tourism association, roadside station or nearby Sankikan about its bookings. There is no confirmed bus-to-reception path in the reviewed sources. Self-driving is the clear planning baseline; anyone without a car should confirm a feasible arrival and return with the operator before paying.

Miune Rime Ice Festival
Mitsue Tourism Association describes the Rime Ice Festival as an annual winter gathering at Mitsue Youth Travel Village, the trailhead-side base for Mount Miune. Recent editions have run on weekends and public holidays over about eleven dates from mid-January to mid-February, with local products, summit-stamp rewards and seasonal visitor services. This is a festival at the village, not a ticketed event on the mountain summit. Confirm each year's schedule, weather response, trail conditions and transport before planning a climb.
