Omoya Morimoto is a family-run guesthouse and cafe in a reused rural house on Gose's Kongō foothills. The operator describes an approximately 120-year-old property, one lodging group a day, a kitchen and outdoor bathing, while Gose City's promotional interview emphasizes the views over the basin and the chance to cook food from the garden. It is a book-ahead, small-group experience, not a walk-in hotel with daily restaurant service. The cafe, overnight rooms and activities belong to the same property, so MyNara counts them as one destination rather than three separate sites.
Choose the house for your actual group size
The operator's current stay page states one party per day, one to eight guests, two Japanese-style rooms and one bed room. It lists Wi-Fi, an outdoor bath, a one-person sauna room and free parking for up to ten cars. Shampoo, conditioner, body soap, towels and a hair dryer are listed, but sleepwear is explicitly not supplied. The older Gose City page says six guests and describes a different room arrangement; use the operator's later eight-person configuration when asking about availability, and confirm which rooms, bath and outdoor areas are included in a booking. The old-house setting also warrants a direct question about stairs and accessible routes.
Read the 2026 rates as a starting quote
The operator announced a lodging price revision in May 2026 and says its stay page reflects the updated rates. At the October 2026 check, it lists a one-night, two-meal plan of ¥12,000 for an adult, ¥9,000 for an elementary-school child and ¥7,000 for ages three to six; a room-only adult rate is ¥8,000. It lists ¥1,000 for a small dog and ¥3,000–¥5,000 per party to use the kitchen. The 2023 city directory still shows older, lower prices and a six-person limit, so it should not be used for a quote. Ask about taxes, meal inclusion, dog rules, cancellation, payment and the exact total for your dates before confirming.
Reserve lunch separately from an overnight stay
The cafe is also reservation-only and normally accepts one party for a seasonal set lunch. Its own page describes vegetables and rice, several small dishes, dessert and coffee, with ¥1,500 listed for lunch and ¥400 for coffee alone. The footer gives 11:00–16:00 as cafe hours, while the lunch page says service starts at 11:00 and days are irregular. Those details do not guarantee a walk-in table or a full four-hour lunch service. Vegetable- and rice-led food is not automatically vegetarian, vegan or free of allergens; ask the host about broth, eggs, dairy, nuts and substitutions when booking.
Treat farm and wellness experiences as requests
The operator lists seasonal vegetable picking, bamboo-shoot digging and wood-fired cooking, blueberry picking and jam making, flowing somen, barbecue and tent sauna as possible plans. Its description of a food-making visit has guests harvest vegetables and learn to prepare a meal. These are not a fixed daily public timetable or activities automatically included in the overnight room rate. Tell the host what you hope to do, ages in the party, dietary needs and weather alternatives, and obtain a date-specific price and reservation terms.
Plan the hill road and call ahead
The operator gives 994 Nishisami and estimates about eight minutes by car from Gojo-kita IC or fifteen minutes from Gose-minami IC, with ten free parking spaces. It asks for reservations by phone at 090-6609-7518; the stay page lists check-in from 16:00 and check-out by 10:00. The operator's regular stay page does not establish a shuttle for every booking. Confirm transport from Kintetsu Gose or another station, the correct driveway and late arrival directly. The public map point is approximate and does not prove a step-free entrance.
